Glutathione Drinks, Explained: Why the "Master Antioxidant" Is in Your Beauty Water

Of the five actives in every bottle of Pick Me Up, the one that gets the most "wait, what is that?" is liposomal glutathione. Fair — it's the least Instagram-famous and the most interesting. Here's the plain-English version.

What is glutathione?

Glutathione is often called the body's master antioxidant — a molecule your own cells produce to neutralize oxidative stress, the wear-and-tear chemistry behind dullness and early skin aging. You make it naturally; the problem is that stress, sun, pollution, late nights, and simply getting older all draw down the supply faster than your body restocks it.

Why do people drink it for their skin?

In the beauty world, glutathione is best known for its association with a brighter, more even-looking complexion — it's been a staple of medi-spa wellness menus (including drips and shots) for years. That's exactly where our story starts: Pick Me Up was born out of an LA medi-spa, where we watched clients love results they couldn't maintain between appointments. Putting glutathione in a daily drink was the obvious answer — the maintenance dose, minus the needle.

Why "liposomal" is the word that matters

Regular oral glutathione has a reputation problem: your digestive system breaks much of it down before it goes to work. Liposomal glutathione wraps the molecule in a tiny lipid bubble — the same trick used in advanced supplement and pharmaceutical delivery — designed to protect it through digestion so more of it gets absorbed. If a drink lists plain glutathione, it's doing the cheap version. Check the label.

Better together: the supporting cast

Antioxidants work as a team. In every bottle, glutathione is paired with vitamin C (which helps recycle antioxidants and supports collagen production), resveratrol, hydrating hyaluronic acid, and our hero active Dracobelle™ NU — clinically shown in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to increase skin hydration by 71% over 84 days.* One bottle, five clinically studied actives, zero pixie dust.

How to use it

Same answer as every ingestible that's ever worked: daily. Cold bottle, morning or afternoon, in place of the drink that wasn't doing your skin any favors. Results you can see by Day 28 and feel by Day 84.
